The Three Live Idiots…

It was a comment by an ordinary citizen, accurate and made at the right time when Bal Thackeray Uddahv Thackeray and Raj Thackeray were busy in ridiculing Indian democracy: "Mumbai had produced 'Three Idiots' long before the making of the Bollywood film of the same name… the difference is that the current 3 filmy idiots are lovable but the 'three (live) idiots' are deplorable." The three live political idiots are a real menace for the populace of not only Mumbai but for entire India.

This time Rahul Gandhi's visit to Mumbai has certainly sent a message of unity to the country, by saying that India is for all Indians and people of India have the right to go anywhere. Rahul's Mumbai visit has also provoked the nation to see the things in a right perspective and not in a unidirectional way. People of India must get an answer as to why the politicians of India, including Rahul Gandhi, have no guts to say that Jammu & Kashmir too belong to all Indians, all communities and people of all religions? Why the Indian people cannot buy a piece of land in Jammu & Kashmir and in some North Eastern states? If Mumbai belong to all Indians, so does Jammu & Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland! Going by the words of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, if any Indian wants to buy property and starts living in Kashmir, can he help him to settle down there? The people of the nation and the displaced Pandits of Kashmir are waiting for the response, if Rahul Gandhi wants to prove himself or Bharat… Mahan.

Politicians of India have nothing to do with the nation, be it Thackeray or anybody else. They are here to loot and plunder our nation by using gimmicks, as it suits them. This is now clear that Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have gone berserk and their three leaders are no less than idiots. But Thackerays are not the issue. It is the irresponsible media that is doing this. The Indian media has also joined the flock of idiots lacking sense of news and sense of nationality. The Indian media has expertise in highlighting things which disintegrate the unity of the country. The media should totally boycott politicians who harm the social and national fabric by their statements or their reprehensible activities. There is no difference between our media (especially news channels) and Mantharas (crooked women always creating and fuelling quarrel). While Mantharas harm some individuals the media harms the entire country.

However, Rahul Gandhi has to be appreciated for showing maturity and maintaining political dignity. When an old man like Balasaheb Thackeray does not know the dignity of speech then how can we expect it from Uddhav and Raj? Use of words like 'Italian Mummy', 'Prince of Congress', 'Mussolini Rahul' and some other unprintable words show the real difference between Rahul Gandhi and the other three in terms of the real difference of dignity and maturity. This is what Rahul Gandhi said: "I am really not interested in what Bal Thackeray, Uddhav or Raj Thackeray have to say. Frankly, I am interested in one concept that India belongs to Indians and every part of India belongs to every Indian. In Mumbai, during the 26/11 attacks, men in the National Security Guard were from Bihar, UP, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra. At that time the Shiv Sena or MNS did not say that those from Bihar and UP should be taken out. India has to move forward and all have to be taken forward." This shows the dignified political schooling which Rahul has had. It may be right that whatever Rahul said is for getting political advantage with an eye on the coming Bihar elections. But as far as the need of expression of national unity and the articulation of political dignity is concerned, Rahul has proved himself a class apart.

In the context of Thackerays, we need to understand the political parties and politicians are loyal to power and not to people's welfare. The divide and rule policy as inherited from British rulers keeps victimizing us time and again. For Shiv Sena, its first target was Muslims. After having extracted maximum mileage from the issue, they targeted South Indians by terming them as Lungi and after getting the mileage they wanted, they have started their divisive campaign on regional basis, targeting people from U.P. and Bihar. Once they derive the benefit from this campaign, they will start dividing people of Maharashtra by spreading hatred between Mumbaiwala, Nasikwala, Punewala, Nagpurwala, Vidarbhawala or by dividing people in different casts and sects. The fact remains that they are not at all loyal to any one. Shiv Sena or MNS must have realized that the way to top is by spreading hatred and playing with emotions. They raise only stupid issues which have only emotional value but no tangible value. Have they ever cried over suicides of poor farmers of Maharashtra? We must decide whether to elect our political representatives on sentimentality or practicality.
